Bridging psychiatric medicine and law to reveal the truth and strengthen your legal strategy.

I'm Olivia

Gougeon

When litigation involves mental health, the stakes are high and the facts are complex. I’m a registered nurse and legal consultant specializing in psychiatric and mental‑health cases. At Verlivian, I transform dense medical records into clear chronologies, identify where care met - or fell short of - professional standards, and provide attorneys with the expert insight needed to achieve fair outcomes.

Case Merit & Record Analysis

We analyze hospital charts, therapy notes and medication logs to determine whether a claim has viable grounds. By identifying missed suicide precautions, improper restraints or medication errors, we ensure you pursue only cases with merit — saving time and resources.

Causation & Impact Assessment

Through detailed timelines and symptom tracking, we link psychiatric conditions to incidents, quantify emotional damages such as PTSD, and differentiate pre‑existing issues from new injuries. This helps you maximize recovery for clients or challenge unsupported claims.

Standards of Care & Compliance

We compare care to Michigan nursing and psychiatric standards, policies and regulations. Our evaluations expose deviations from protocol or, for defense clients, validate that staff followed proper procedures.

Strategy & Expert Liaison

From preparing deposition questions to sourcing and briefing medical experts, we act as your medical strategist. We provide litigation‑ready reports, visual aids and expert coordination to strengthen negotiations and court presentations.

Stronger Cases

Discover critical evidence with thorough record reviews and standard‑of‑care analyses.

Time & Cost Savings

Offload hundreds of pages of medical charts to an expert, often at a fraction of the cost of physician consultants.

Confidence in Strategy

Proceed knowing every medical detail has been vetted, reducing surprises at trial or settlement.

Clear Communication

Translate psychiatric jargon into plain, persuasive language for juries, judges and adjusters.
